The Idle Hands Society

Community for creatives.

Welcome to The Idle Hands Society. This is your place to network and learn from like-minded individuals. We will be building the site over the coming months, so feel free to once in a while.

In the meantime, we will share journal entries on topics like the philosophy of creativity and reviews of projects. We don't allow shameless self-promotion. Instead, we aim to scratch beneath the surface and build deeper connections in the community. I welcome you to reach out if you have an idea you want to explore, joining us as a guest contributor. Fill out this form to get your voice heard.

Dan Higginson - Founder of The Idle Hands Society

The Team

Dan Higginson

Old Punk, Photographer, Meditator

When I’m not working as a wedding photographer, or studying at UAL, I’m pursuing stories as a documentary photographer.

I created The Idle Hands Society as a way to bounce ideas around with other creatives. Something about writing my thoughts down and arranging them helps me make sense of my ideas. Hopefully I can give you something to think about for your own work too.

Feel free to follow my antics on Instagram @dan_s_higginson

Photographer, Paul Bence

Paul is photographer predominately focused on street and commercial work, but not shy of dabbling. You can see more of his work over on his website or his social media. Follow @paulbenceuk on Instagram.

As well as being an amazingly talented Illustrator & Head of Art at a secondary school in Kent, UK, she is also the brains of the operation. While she might not be as loud a voice in the Society, her marks are all over most things we do.
